Blount Construction Company, Inc. is looking for a skilled and dependable Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team in Buford, GA. This is a hands-on opportunity to play a critical role in delivering high-quality asphalt production that keeps our projects moving. Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor asphalt batch or drum mix plant equipment to produce quality asphalt mixes
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on plant machinery
- Monitor material feed rates, temperatures, and mix designs to ensure product quality and consistency
- Coordinate with site supervisors and crew to meet daily production schedules and material demands
- Maintain accurate production logs, batch records, and material usage reports
- Troubleshoot and report mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
Requirements:
- Prior experience operating an asphalt plant or heavy construction equipment strongly preferred
- Familiarity with asphalt mix designs, aggregate materials, and liquid asphalt binders
- Ability to read and interpret gauges, meters, and control panel displays
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality materials
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning hours as needed
